What information do I need to add an application to the App Catalog?

At minimum an Application Name, OS, Architecture, Version, Application Type (such as exe or zip), an Application Location Type, and the package file itself. An icon file, description, and tags are also available but optional.

Can I let end users install an application themselves?

Yes. The Create Application form includes an Allow Self Installation toggle, which can be switched on when adding the application to the catalog.

What's the difference between deploying an application and an application bundle?

When creating an App Deployment, the "What to deploy" section lets you choose a Deployment Type and then pick either Application or Application Bundle as the target, so a deployment can push a single app or an entire bundle of apps in one go.

Can I deploy to only specific endpoints?

Yes. A deployment's Scope can be set to Specific Endpoints (as well as options like All Endpoints, Specific Departments, Specific Locations, or by OS), with the exact target device or devices then chosen under Endpoints.

What else can I configure for a deployment besides the target?

Under Policy & delivery you can choose a Deployment Policy (for example an instant deployment policy), set a Retry Count, and choose who to notify about the deployment's outcome.

How do I know a deployment actually completed?

The App Deployment list shows each deployment's Stage (for example Initiated, In Progress, or Completed) and a Progress count such as 1/1. Opening a deployment's Tasks view breaks this down further, showing the Status (such as Success) and Last Updated time for each targeted endpoint.
